April Book(s) - 2019 Reading Challenge
Wow. Just wow. It was such a mind blowing book. Everyone needs to read this book right now. I can't even begin to express how amazing it is. I was a feminist long before I read it, but The Power just took it to a whole other level. The way our gender influences our lives is so ingrained in us that we don't even notice subtle differences in how men and women are treated until the roles reverse. I borrowed this book from one of the best people I know, Monica (thanks Monica!).
I also have Monica to thank for the next book series I read, since she was the one who recommended it to me... and that series is Vampire Academy.
I was completely hooked, and read all the 6 books in a couple of weeks. I confess I'm a sucker for the young adult genre, and even though vampires aren't really my thing, I loved VA and it was fun to be so invested in a book series again. It had been a while since I had a crush on a fictional character (and that's weird for me. I've had crushes on fictional characters ever since I remember), and Monica was hoping I would crush on Dimitri since she totally loves him. So I surprised everyone (aka her and myself) when I fell hard for Christian. God, I just find him so sexy!
I'm planning on reading Bloodlines in the future, but I decided to give myself a temporary break from VA to read some other stuff.
So in total that was 7 books I read this month. Not bad!
