Vegan in Lisbon - Vegana Burgers
I know I haven't posted anything in a while - I was planning on keeping it to a blog post each week in the school period, but on the last few weeks, even that was impossible - I either had no time at all, or when I did, I was too tired to come up with something to write about. In the future, I'm hopefully gonna be more organized, and have a few posts ready ahead of time, for those periods when college takes all my time... Anyway, since I have been eating out a lot recently I figured I should take a few pictures and post about it!
I'm lucky enough to have traveled to a lot of pretty cool places, but still, there's no place like Portugal in my opinion. I am really proud of how beautiful my country is, and Lisbon is no exception. Now, when I first became vegan, although it was very easy to eat plant based at home, there weren't that many vegan friendly restaurants around me, let alone fully vegan restaurants. But in just a couple of years it seems like that all changed, and now there are new vegan options everywhere!

On my birthday post you saw the delicious food me and my family had at Ao 26. Today, I'm going to show you what I usually order when I go to Vegana Burgers, the first ever vegan fast food chain in Lisbon!
I've tried all the burgers (since I go there so often!), but my favorite burger is the Peanut and Chickpeas one!
Recently, a vegan Hotdog was added to the menu, and it's also so good that now it's my boyfriend's favorite (it used to be the beets burger, but now he orders the hot dog every time!), and for me, it comes in a close second place.

For sides, you can choose potato chips (in the pictures), couscous (another favorite of ours), salad or carrot sticks (steamed broccoli used to be an option but now it's not on the menu so I'm not sure), and to drink, there are usually three options of natural and sugar free juices.
As for desserts, I love their carob brownie, but my favorite is definitely the apple crumble. It's just a shame that they come in disposable containers, even though they're made from vegetable "plastic" that's more Eco-friendly than the regular one. They used to have a reusable option, but I guess most people would choose the plastic one so they had to give up on the glass alternative.

This is definitely a very cool place to try, the food is good and reasonably priced (although a little more expensive than most conventional fast food chains). The service is quick (it is fast food after all) but still, you get a relatively healthy meal. I eat here quite often, bringing everyone I know to try this chain, and everyone seems to enjoy it as well.
If you are in Lisbon and don't have much time but still want a nice vegan meal (that isn't a salad) this is the place to go!
