Vegan in Côte d'Azur (French Riviera) ~ Day 5

Sanremo (Italy)

On our 5th day, we decided to leave France and take a trip to Italy. We were expecting rain this time, so obviously, it didn't rain at all.

If you've ever been to Italy as a vegan, you probably know this, but Italy is surprisingly vegan friendly, one of the most vegan friendly places I've been to. There are many places where you can get vegan labeled things, like ice cream, soy cappuccinos, even vegan croissants (brioche vegano in Italian)! This time I was with other people that weren't as interested in vegan treats as I was, so I only went to an ice cream place. There, I got the two flavors of ice cream that were vegan but weren't sorbet (since I can get sorbet pretty much everywhere): Soy hazelnut and dark chocolate.

Then we went back to our stroll and walked through a few streets, took pictures, until we were hungry again, so we sat on a bench near the shore and had lunch that, once again, we packed beforehand (which was a shame since Sanremo was the most affordable and vegan friendly place we've been at this entire trip!)
I had a sandwich with lettuce, tomato and a vegan meat alternative that seemed like fake chicken (also from Céréal Grill Vegetal). It tasted good, but again, not as good as a chicken alternative I get here in Portugal from The Vegetarian Butcher.

We were done sightseeing for the day quite early so we headed back to our apartment so we could play in the pool a while before dinner time.

Once again, my mother made pasta with vegetables, beans and tomato sauce (this time regular tomato and not cherry since we couldn't find it), and that was it.
And so, another day went by in a flash
