Côte d'Azur (French Riviera) ~ Ethical Highlights
I had a lot of fun in Côte d'Azur, and being vegan certainly didn't stay in the way of enjoying myself during that week. If you've been reading my last blog posts you know that already, but in case you haven't, here are a few tips I've learned to be useful in this beautiful place
Day 0 ~ From Lisbon to Antibes
Day 1 ~ Antibes
Day 2 ~ Monaco
Day 3 ~ Vence, Saint-Paul du Vence, Eze and back to Antibes
Day 4 ~ Saint-Tropez
Day 5 ~ Sanremo (Italy)
Day 6 ~ Villefranche-sur-Mer
Day 7 ~ Nice and back home
Now school has started for me, so it will probably take me longer to post here. I'll try my best though, I'm really enjoying this experience!
- This place is expensive, and not always vegan-friendly, so it's best to pack your lunch to take with you most days
- Bring your reusable bags and jars! There's a bulk section everywhere
- If you're in Antibes, you must eat at Vega'Sun (vegan), and if you're in Monaco, at Stars n Bars (omnivore with a vegan menu)!
- If you're feeling like having ice cream, there's sorbet pretty much everywhere (usually only contains fruit and sugar, but always confirm at the parlor - they might even have vegan alternatives besides sorbet!
- Besides fresh, canned and frozen vegetables, you can also find products like tofu, non-dairy milks and even fake meats (like Céréal Grill Vegetal) in supermarkets
- There are plenty of Bio Markets with vegan alternatives, like these cookies that you should absolutely get if you can find them.
